Phyllis Louise Rycroft of Yukon, OK, passed away on Sunday, July 7, 2024, of natural causes. She was born on July 21, 1940 in Wichita, KS, to Ormal and Pauline Sinkhorn.

Phyllis married Robert (R.G.) Rycroft in 1957. After the two were married, they settled in Wichita to raise their family of 3 children. In 1971, Phyllis and R.G. moved the family to Yukon to be nearer to R.G.’s parents. In 1972, they welcomed their fourth child to the family.

Phyllis was a stay-at-home mom until about 1982 when she entered the workplace. After working a couple of other jobs, Phyllis and R.G. bought the Miller Grill in Yukon and served many customers until 1996. It was very hard work, but she and R.G. loved all their customers and had many regular customers who also became friends.

In 1996, Phyllis and R.G. retired to the Rycroft farm in Greenfield, OK, where they lived until 2021. At that time, they moved back to Yukon, joining the community at Spanish Cove Retirement Village.

Phyllis enjoyed her family and friends most of all, but also enjoyed reading, movies, music, gardening, crochet, and other crafts. Christmas was her absolute favorite holiday – she enjoyed the music, the decorations, and of course, celebrating with family and friends.

Phyllis is survived by her husband, R.G., four children Robert Rycroft (Patti), Randi Rycroft (Bob Mull), Steven Rycroft (Shirley), and Krista Kovanda (Steve); 5 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. She is also survived by brother-in-law Harold Rycroft (Sarey) and numerous nieces, nephews and many dear and loving friends who will miss her dearly. She was preceded in death by her parents Ormal and Pauline Sinkhorn; brother Richard Sinkhorn and parents-in-law Fenton and Irene Rycroft.

A celebration of life will be held at a later time. In memory of Phyllis, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
