Peggy Joyce (McCannon) Nix

Peggy Joyce Nix was born November 2, 1930, in Sentinel, OK, to Homer and Mary Faye (McHenry) McCannon.  She passed away Tuesday, January 11, 2022, in Yukon, OK at the age of 91.  Peggy attended school in Sentinel and Carnegie, OK, Tatum, TX, west of Hinton at two country schools, Mound Valley School and Lone Mound School before graduating from Hinton High School in 1948.  She married Marshall C. Nix on March 1, 1952, in Henrietta, TX.  Peggy worked in food service for years and put on workshops in nursing homes before her retirement. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Hinton, OK

Peggy is survived by her son Timothy Paul Nix of Yukon, OK, grandchildren, Dustin Nix and wife Vanessa of Weatherford, OK, Jason Nix and wife Season of El Reno, OK, Kelly Robinson and husband Steven of Chandler, OK, Brittaney Cochran and Jordan Nix, great-grandchildren,  Destiny, John and Andrew Nix, Christopher and Caedon Parris, and Catherine Ann Nix, nieces, Pam Anderson of Yukon, OK, Dana Winecker of Maize, KS, Kim Arterburnof Ft. Worth, TX, niece, Sheryl Shatswell of OKC,OK, and cousin, Jeannie Sierra of New Castle, OK, and as well as a host of other relatives and friends.

Peggy is preceded in death by her husband, Marshall Nix, parents, Homer and Faye McCannon, sons, Dan and Bill Nix, brothers, Bob, Don, and Jerry McCannon, sisters, Melba Coats, Alice Buser, Thelma Henderson, cousin, John McHenry.
