Peggy Jo Blakley was born on October 6, 1943, in Lookeba, Oklahoma, to Perry and Augusta (Hueter) Stevenson. Peggy passed away on November 6, 2025, in Binger, Oklahoma, at the age of 82. Peggy grew up in Lookeba and lived there all her life, graduating from Lookeba-Sickles High School. She never wanted to live anywhere else. She dearly loved her hometown, knowing its history, its stories, and the genealogy of nearly everyone who lived there. Peggy loved her little dogs and enjoyed feeding the hummingbirds — even during her time at the nursing home. She was an avid gardener, especially fond of her roses and her hens and chicks. She enjoyed going to church on Sundays, and Saturdays were always the day to get her hair done. She cherished time spent with her children and grandchildren. One of her favorite outings was going with Tim to eat at Ann’s in Medicine Park — and if he ever went without her, she made sure he knew she did not like that. Peggy worked for many years for the City of Lookeba in the water department, and she farmed most of her life in Lookeba as well. She was a longtime member of the Sickles Community Church. Peggy will be deeply missed by all who loved her.
Survivors include her children, Tim Ferguson and wife, Tricia, of Watonga, Oklahoma, and Sandra Earp and husband, Brent, of Grand Lake, Oklahoma; her grandchildren, Cody Ferguson of Lookeba, Oklahoma, Jayde Ferguson of Watonga, Oklahoma, Joshua Taylor and wife, Rebecca, of Fort Drum, New York, and Casey Sharp of Fort Cobb, Oklahoma; her great-grandchildren, Dekker Ferguson and Jaxxon Ferguson, both of Weatherford, Oklahoma, and Rylee Taylor and Josie Taylor, both of Fort Drum, New York; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, Perry and Augusta Stevenson; her husband, Frank Blakley; and her siblings, Russell Stevenson, Loye Dale Stevenson, and Leaella Mae Stevenson.
Ceremonies will be held at Sickles Community Church on Monday, 2:00 PM, November 10, 2025, in Lookeba, Oklahoma, with Rev. Tom Clifton officiating. Burial will follow at Murray Cemetery in Binger, Oklahoma.
