Paul L. Friesen Obituary

Paul L. Friesen was born September 24, 1938, to W.M. and Alma Louise (Taylor) Friesen near Scott, OK, and passed away on Friday, January 17, 2025, at the age of 86 years.  He attended Mountain View Country School through the 8th grade. Paul then went to High school at East Walnut High School where he played baseball and basketball. He graduated from East Walnut in 1956, and then attended Weaver Airline School in Kansas City, Kansas.


Paul married Beverly Erickson on July 15th, 1958, and made their home in Oklahoma City, OK. and Arlington, TX before moving back to Hinton, OK. in October of 1996. Paul went to work for American Airlines in May of 1957 in Chicago, IL. Working there for a year, he then transferred to Oklahoma City, OK. In February of 1963 he transferred to the Central Reservation Office in Fort Worth, TX. Paul also spent time at GSW. and Love Field. Paul retired on March 1, 1995, and he and Beverly bought the Friesen family farm and raised cattle until 2023.


Survivors Include: his wife, Beverly Friesen of Hinton, OK, his children, Donald Friesen and wife Lee Anne of Amarillo, TX, Lisa Lundquist of Littleton, CO, Vicky Mann and husband Dana of Bend, OR, Carol Mann and husband Jim of Arlington, TX, and David Friesen of Hinton, OK, his grandchildren, Corey and Meg; Charlie and Margo; Eric; Rhea and Samantha, Jeran; Lauren and Erik; Christopher and Kimmy; and Jonathan; his great grandchildren, Spruce, River, and Mori; his brothers, Billy Friesen and wife Pat of Missouri, Dan Friesen and wife Peggy of California, Lloyd Friesen and wife Kay of El Reno, OK, and Vernon Friesen of El Reno, OK, his sister, Mary Ann Jett and husband W.C. Dowell of Binger, OK, and his aunt, Betty May of Oklahoma City, OK, as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and close friends.


Paul was preceded in death by his parents, W. M. and Alma Friesen, his brother, Wayne Friesen, and his sister, Oleta Evans.
