Myrtle Irene (Rene) (Wyatt) Watts

Myrtle Irene “Rene” Watts was born April 20, 1946, to John Thomas and Ethel Nadine (Miller) Wyatt in Anadarko, Oklahoma. She passed away Sunday, August 30, 2026, at her home in Fort Cobb, Oklahoma, at the age of 80.  Rene graduated from Binger High School in 1964. She was united in marriage to Charles “Butch” Watts on December 18, 1964, at the Binger Baptist Church in Binger, Oklahoma.  Rene and Butch first made their home in Anadarko, where they lived in one side of a duplex while her sister Kay and her husband Wayne lived in the other. Butch and Wayne enjoyed their train and slot car hobbies, and the families would even send things back and forth between the two homes.  They later moved to the country and lived in Gracemont. Then they settled in Fort Cobb, Ok in 1974. Rene worked as a bank teller at Washita Valley Bank in Fort Cobb and later worked at Anadarko Bank and Trust in Anadarko. Rene was a very talented and creative person who enjoyed crafts, baking and decorating cakes, sewing, embroidery, and making Halloween costumes. She was also an accomplished artist and enjoyed making pottery and ceramics. Rene had a gift for creating things and was talented in many different areas.  She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Fort Cobb. Rene especially enjoyed teasing and giving a hard time to her granddaughter, Haley who was affectionately known as “the favorite.”

Rene is survived by her husband, Charles “Butch” Watts, of the home in Fort Cobb; two children, Lorie Watts of Fort Cobb, and Dustin Watts and wife Temple of Moore, Oklahoma; her grandchildren, Haley Watts and Eddie Ramsey of Fort Cobb, Kayde Watts and Myles McCluer of Norman, Ryan Watts and wife Sarah of Oklahoma City, Caleb Watts of Moore, Riley Watts and Elyssa Leal of Fort Cobb, and Taliyah, Maliyah, and Gabriel Watts, all of Fort Cobb; her great-grandchildren, Kyndal, Lawson, and Greyson Ramsey, Cyrus and Cassius Watts, and Spence Watts; two sisters, Ethel Hill and husband Phil of Cyril, Oklahoma, and Kay Mogg and husband Wayne of Binger, Oklahoma; one niece, several nephews, other relatives, and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Johnny and Nadine Wyatt; one sister, Edith Williams and her husband, Dale.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 12, 2026, at the First Baptist Church in Fort Cobb, Oklahoma

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Alzheimer’s research.
