Milton Ray Wells

Milton Ray Wells was born January 10, 1943, in Hinton, Oklahoma, to Emerson David and Cleo (Nix) Wells. He passed away Sunday, August 23, 2026, at Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, at the age of 83.  Milton graduated from Lookeba-Sickles High School. He spent many years farming and later became a local businessman.  In Milton’s own words:  “My life reminds me of a crop that was planted. It came up in the warm weather and was very beautiful, but after a little while, weeds also came up and grew very fast. If the weeds are left too long, they will greatly damage the young crop and eventually destroy it.  “I’ve had a lot of weeds in my life, but praise God, I believe that God heard and answered the many prayers that were prayed for me by my family and other people who cared for me. Jesus Christ came into my life, forgave me, and I was saved before it was too late.  “My prayer would be, if you haven’t already done so, that you would ask Jesus to do the same for you.”  Milton will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.  Milton and Donna Kerr were united in marriage in Oklahoma City. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Emerson and Cleo Wells; his son, David Scott Wells, in 1968; and one granddaughter, Karley Wells.

Survivors include, wife, Donna Kerr of Lookeba, OK; two sons, Brent Wells of Putnam, OK and Kris Wells of Anadarko, OK; grandchildren, Suzanne, Ashley, Kadence, Madelyn, Ryann and Brittany; one sister, Pauline Baker and her husband, Steve, of Elk City, Oklahoma; Donna’s children, Kim Doane and husband Jeff and their son Breyden of Lookeba, OK and Bobbie Kerr and partner Tish of Yukon, OK as well as other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services will be held at the Pentecostal Holiness Church Thursday, 1:00 pm, August 27, 2026, Hinton, OK with Reverend Louie Bennett officiating. Burial will follow at Hinton Cemetery in Hinton, Oklahoma services entrusted to Turner Funeral Home, Hinton, Oklahoma.
