Michael Lee Lovell was born on June 22, 1946, in Carnegie, Oklahoma, to George Lee and Mary Francis (Sneed) Lovell. He passed away on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, at OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City at the age of 78.  Mike graduated from high school and moved to Oklahoma City, where he began working at Wilson’s Packing Plant. He later attended Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford and served in the Army National Guard from 1966 to 1972.  After his military service, Mike moved to Oney, Oklahoma, where he began a lifelong career in farming. He continued farming until his retirement, always dedicating himself wholeheartedly to his land and his work. Farming was his passion and his favorite pastime, above all else. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing when time allowed. Mike was a member of the Oney Baptist Church.  On July 8, 1982, Mike married Becky Dorsey in Oney, Oklahoma. Mike will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his faith, and the land he loved so deeply.

Mike is survived by his wife, Becky Lovell, of the home; four children: Kim Jackson and husband Howie of Chickasha, Oklahoma; Robin Slater of Yukon, Oklahoma; Chance Slater of Elgin, Oklahoma; and Steve Koch and wife Christina of Fort Cobb, Oklahoma. He is also survived by Brian Koch of Fort Cobb, Oklahoma; nine grandchildren: Wyatt Koch, Hunter Koch and wife Cheyenne, Bree Frizzell, Seth Koch, Sara and Gavin Grimes, Austin Jackson, Hannah Jackson, Connor Slater, and Chandler Slater; and several great-grandchildren: Legend and Stetson Koch, Cordell, Creek, and Canyon Koch, and Grayson, Waylon, and Camryn Grimes; two sisters: Jennifer Brewster and husband Gary of Fort Cobb, Oklahoma, and Tamera Lovell of Minco, Oklahoma, as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. 

Mike was preceded in death by his parents, George and Mary Lovell; one brother, Gary Lovell; and his in-laws, Bill Dorsey and Shirley Dorsey.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 12, 20025, at the Oney Baptist Church, with Reverend Todd Pack and Reverend Garrett Bradley officiating. Burial will follow at the Fort Cobb Cemetery in Fort Cobb, Oklahoma.  Services are entrusted to the Turner Funeral Home, Binger, OK.
