Michael Brown Obituary

Michael Joe Brown was born on November 29, 1957 in Oklahoma City, OK to Harvey Joe Burnett and Wilma Jean (Williams) Tarrant. Michael joined his Heavenly Savior Jesus Christ with his ever present wife and son by his side on March 4, 2024 in Oklahoma City, OK at the age of 66. He graduated from Moore High School and received his diesel mechanic certificate from OSU Technical School in Okmulgee, OK. Michael worked for Cummins in OKC, OK and for the last 8 years, he was working as lead mechanic for Hobby Lobby. Michael always said the smartest thing he ever did was to marry LeighAnn, which he did on April 14, 2012 in Oklahoma City, OK. He was the proudest of his son, Justin. He looked forward to meeting his son and grandson Anthony for their men’s breakfast at a favorite restaurant. Michael enjoyed growing hot peppers, making spicy salsa to share, listening to music, and riding motorcycles with his friends. Michael spent countless hours simply hanging out on their patio with his wife and their beloved boxer dogs, grilling and eating good food, enjoying a great glass of wine or a good beer, and watching an OU football or softball game. He frequently cooked breakfast for his wife on the weekends. He loved traveling on bike trips with his close friends. He loved bowling, enjoyed his bowling league, and had a perfect score of 300 on February 13, 1990 that he mentioned. He loved to read his favorite authors such as, J.R.R. Tolkien, Terry Goodkind, and Terry Brooks. He was such a good friend to so many people, always wanted to treat people right, and was always loyal and humble. He was a thoughtful husband, a fierce protector, proud father and grandfather, and a quick-witted gentle soul. Michael was very strong, both mentally and physically, for what he had to endure, his strength, courage, and faith sustained him. He attended Crossings Community Church in Oklahoma City, OK. Michael will be missed by all those who loved him.
