Mary Mae (Pratt) Jefferis

Mary Mae “Pratt” Jefferis was born on October 19, 1954 in Geary, OK to Samuel Theodore and Angeline (Spottedcorn) Pratt. She passed away on October 28, 2019 in Oklahoma City, OK at the age of 65. Mary graduated from Geary High School in 1974. She graduated from Pauls School of Cosmetology in 1976, and from Pima Community College in May of 1981 in Tucson, AZ as a dental hygienist. In 1981, she moved back to Geary where she worked as a dental hygienist for Indian Health Services in Watonga and Clinton. She also worked in Alaska as a dental hygienist from 1999-2004 and later worked at Concho as a drug and alcohol abuse counselor. Mary enjoyed going to the casino, visiting friends, eating, sewing, cooking, attending pow-wows, spending time with her sisters and family, and she loved to travel all over. Mary was a member of the Baptist Church and was saved and baptized in the spring of 1983.  

Survivors Include: her companion, Derial Reading, ex-husband, Chuck Jefferis, her nephew, Philip Pratt of Geary, OK, her grandchildren, Devin Pratt and Summer Brown, 6 great grandchildren, her dog, Blondie, her siblings, Patricia Waysepappy of Lawton, OK, Sandra Pratt Thunderbull of Geary, OK, Leah Pratt of OKC,OK, Gayle Pratt Flores of Parker, AZ, Julia Pratt of OKC,OK, Alicia Pratt of Woodward, OK, Regina Pratt of Geary, OK,Oscar Pratt of Geary, OK, Stephen Pratt, Sr. of Geary, OK, and Adam Pratt of Geary, OK, as well as many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel and Angeline Pratt, her daughter, Michelle Lynn Pratt, her siblings, Ducky Spottedcorn, David Spottedcorn, Gloria Spottedcorn, Susie Gilbert, and Curtis Pratt.
