Mary Lou (Griggs) Gambel was born on December 1, 1943 in El Reno, OK to Elmer and Lula (Deerking) Griggs. Mary Lou passed away on February 13, 2026 in Yukon, OK at the age of 82. Mary Lou grew up in Calumet, graduated from Calumet High School, and lived her whole life there. She married Thomas Joe Gambel on September 3, 1963 in El Reno, OK and shared 63 years together. Mary Lou helped Tom on the farm, enjoyed quilting, and loved to garden.

Survivors Include: her son, Bryan Gambel and wife Lois of Calumet, OK, her grandchildren, Lane Gambel and wife Taelyn of Coweta, OK, and Barron Gambel and wife Shelby of Okarche, OK, her 3 great grandchildren, as well as many other relatives and friends.

Mary Lou was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Lula Griggs, her husband, Tom Gambel, her son, Steven J. Gambel, and her step-brothers, Harold and Gene Griggs.

Viewing will be held at Hinton Turner Funeral Home, Saturday 9:00 AM- 9:00 PM and Sunday from 1:00 PM - 9:00 PM, Hinton, OK 

Graveside services will be held at the Calumet Cemetery on Monday, February 16, 2026, at 11:30 a.m. Reverend Mike Davis will officiate.
