Malcolm J. Whitebird, Sr. was born March 23, 1935 in Concho, OK to Gilbert and Louise (Harrison) Whitebird. He passed away Friday, January 8, 2021 at his home in Greenfield, OK at the age of 85. Malcolm attended Concho Schools, he served in the US Army as an Army Ranger. He lived in California, Albuquerque, NM, moved back to Oklahoma and lived in various areas of Oklahoma and has lived in Greenfield, OK for the last several years. He was united in marriage to Ada Mae Cutnose November 6, 1998 in Miami, OK and she preceded him in death April 23, 2013 in Watonga. Malcolm worked as a truck driver, was an accomplished silversmith and drum maker. Malcolm was a Headsman, OIN Honored Elder 2015, and a member of the World Wind Mission of the Holy Family Episcopal Church in Watonga.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Gilbert and Louise Whitebird, wife, Ada Mae Cutnose, grandson, Scott Russell, one great grandchild, brother, Edwin Pewo, two sisters, Rosemary Whitebird, and Lillian Bestley.
Malcolm is survived by, five children, Michael Whitebird of El Reno, Thelma Whitebird of El Reno, Malcolm Whitebird, Jr. of Watonga, Maria Oneal of Fort Washakie, WY, and Diane Whitebird of Albuquerque, NM mother of the children, Ernestine Simpson; nineteen grandchildren; thirty great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and his siblings, Kish Whitebird of OKC, Dulcie Bighorse of OKC, Roegal Brown of Norman, and Esther Whitebird of OKC; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
