Luis Jorge Rui, 76, of Oklahoma City, passed away on June 13, 2025, at OU Health Center  surrounded by family. He was born on May 7, 1949, in Bernal, Argentina.

Luis lived a rich and full life rooted in love for his family, hard work, and a deep sense of community. He and his beloved wife, Bibiana (Marconi) Rui were married on April 5, 1974, in Argentina, and together built a life marked by commitment and resilience.

After marrying, Luis and Bibiana welcomed two daughters and a son; Valerie, Carolina and Ricardo. They moved to the United States in 1987 where they raised their family and created a new home. He worked in the restaurant industry for many years, including two years in Florida and then in Houston before eventually settling in Moore, Oklahoma. In 2010, the family moved to Hinton, where Luis proudly opened Broadway Pizzeria. In 2018 Luis retired  and enjoyed spending his days gardening—especially growing vegetables, fruit trees, and his prized fig and lemon trees.

Luis had a passion for cooking, particularly grilling, and took great pride in preparing meals for his family. He loved fishing, watching his grandchildren’s activities, and cheering on the Argentina national soccer team. A selfless, supportive, and devoted man, Luis was always willing to help anyone in need. He took great care of his family and was deeply loved in return.

He is survived by his wife Bibiana; 2 daughters, Valerie Barrett and her husband Joe of Noble, OK, and  Carolina Rui-Reynolds and her husband Mat of Hinton, OK, son, Ricardo Rui and his wife Jeanna of Noble, OK, 8 grandchildren, Max Barrett and his wife Emma and their daughter Huntlee, Jack Barrett, Annie Barrett, Gabriel Rui, Victoria Lambert, Dre Rui, Joseph and Mariah, who were the lights of his life. He also leaves behind a legacy of kindness, generosity, and quiet strength.

Luis was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
