Lillie Cox Obituary

Lillie Mae Cox, a 53 year long resident of Hinton, Oklahoma passed away unexpectedly on Nov 12/13, 2020 at 82 years of age at Integris Yukon.  Lillie Mae Naves was born August 20, 1938 to Clara and George Naves in Oklahoma City, OK.  She married Harold Cox on June 20th, 1956.   After her divorce, she left Oklahoma City and moved to Hinton, Oklahoma where she felt was the best place to start a new life for her 3 children.  With the support of her church and the townspeople of Hinton, this single mother of 3 completed her GED, Cosmetology school and eventually owned her own successful business where she enjoyed styling the hair of many loyal customers of Hinton as she got to know and love them.

 

She is preceded in death by her brothers Chuck, Grover, and Robert (Bob) Naves, and brother Larry Rupe and a ½ sister and brother, Trilby and Grover Naves and son, Rodney Cox. 

 

She is survived by her brothers Dwayne Ken Naves and Connie (Mac) McClendon, her daughter Linda Smith, son Jerrad Besch and wife Jennifer, granddaughter, Lynnae Dougherty and husband Peter, grandson Paul Smith and wife, Laura, Grandson Chalan Cox and wife Gabby, grandson Michael Smith, Grandson Landon Cox, granddaughter Gabrielle (Besch) Malone and husband Levi, granddaughters  Alexis and Erica Besch,  Great Grandson Aiden Cox, Great Grandson Nash Daugherty, great Grandson Erixx Cox, Great Granddaughter Nova Dougherty, great grandson Lincoln Smith, great granddaughter, Tinzley Cox, nieces and nephews and of course her 3 greatly loved dogs,  Tilley, Bob and Pepper. 

 

In addition to styling the hair of many people in Hinton, she was active at First Baptist Church for many years. By God’s grace, after a rough childhood, she raised her kids in church, and studied her Bible diligently. She was sure to be in church with her kids throughout their childhoods and later in life.

Later in life, she joined the Missionary Baptist church in Hinton and enjoyed volunteering at the local food bank.  She also loved walking her three beloved dogs.  She could be seen all over town, visiting with neighbors on her daily walks.

  

Lillie ask that In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Missionary Baptist Church or the local food bank.
