Leta Mae (Johnson) Cox, 91 of Binger, Oklahoma went home to be with her Lord, Saturday, July 25, 2020 at her home in Binger, OK. She was born to the late Embry and Birdie (Sanders) Johnson June 21, 1929 in Binger, OK. Leta graduated from Ft. Cobb Vocational School. Leta Mae married Willie W. Cox, Sr. on July 31, 1948. She was of Baptist Faith and joined St. Paul Baptist Church at an early age and remained a faithful member until her heath. She worked as a social worker for Lookeba-Sickles Head Start Program aka Washita Valley Community Action for many years. Leta enjoyed sewing, crocheting, knitting, fishing, cooking, singing, and taking care of others.
Leta is preceded in death by her parents, Embry and Birdie Johnson; husband, Willie Cox, Sr., two sons, Willie Cox, Jr and Donald Thompson, five brothers, Robert, Roy, Bernard, Herbert and Lester Johnson, two sisters, Mary and Mildred Johnson; grandchildren, Kevin “Kubby” Cox, Kimani Hardison, Tasha Tointigh Rubio, Mariah Baeza and Presley Anderson.
She is survived by one sister, Audrey Johnson of Binger, OK; and daughters Mary Garcia of Nor Folk, NE, Carolyn Gonzalez of Binger, Joyce Asberry of Little Rock, AR, and Ladonna Tointigh of Binger; 22 grandchildren; 98 great-grandchildren, and 16 great great grandchildren; and her dearest friend, Connie Crawford, and many nieces nephews other relatives and many friends.
