Leland Lynn Lightcap, 75, of Hydro, died peacefully on April 27, 2021 at his home in Hydro, OK.
He was born January 7, 1946 in Dodge City, KS, to Leland Chester and Lois Bly (Kiner) Lightcap. After graduating from Dodge City High School, he married Lura Sue (East) Reeves, now of Sedgwick, KS, and attended the Bible program at Oklahoma Christian College. He pastored briefly at First Christian Church in Oney, OK, and subsequently lived and worked in Weatherford, Lawton, Purcell and Guthrie before spending time in Nevada and California. In 1993 he moved to Hydro and later married Carol Hawley.
Among a lifetime of occupations he was a salesman, oilfield worker, cabinet-builder and restorer of antiques. He was an accomplished fisherman and beekeeper. He was a jokester of the highest order.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leland and Lois Lightcap, of Dodge City and Offerle, KS.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 1, at Mt. Zion Pentecostal Holiness Church, Hinton, OK, The Rev. John Hauser officiating.
Survivors include his wife Carol Lightcap of Hydro, OK; children Tony Lee Lightcap (Christina) of Broken Arrow, OK, and Torey Lynn Lightcap (Jacqueline Whitney) of Topeka, KS; and grandchildren Blake Lightcap of Broken Arrow, OK, and Gabriel Jacob Whitney Lightcap, and Julianna Grace Whitney Lightcap of Topeka, KS, as well as many other relatives and friends.
