Lavon Earp Obituary
Lavon Earp was born May 12, 1940 in Oney, OK to LeHawn and Arta Mae Earp. He spent his childhood helping on the farm and milking cows. During his high school years, he was active in his FFA chapter and a talented baseball player. He was proud of his baseball days, and made sure his children and grandchildren knew stories of his no hitters. He graduated from Oney High School in 1958. After high school, he met and married the love of his life, Carolyn, at a small ceremony in her parent’s home near Gracemont. Lavon and Carolyn would go on to create a life with their three children raising cattle, farming, and raising show pigs. He was a member of Highland Methodist Church where he and Carolyn were music leaders for many years. Lavon loved his family and enjoyed Sunday dinners, attending his children’s activities, then eventually his grandchildren’s activities. He was a friend to all who knew him, and always had time to stop and talk with people when he saw them. He passed away on April 1, 2025 in Binger, OK.
