Larry Logan Pugh was born on February19, 1938 in Oklahoma City, OK to Lester and Violet (Profitt) Pugh. He passed away Monday, November 30, 2020 in Weatherford, OK at the age of 82. Larry grew up in Oklahoma City where he attended Crooked Oak School and then attended one year at Oklahoma A&M. From there Larry went to Lubbock, TX to work with his granddad in the firework business. There he met Sandra Jordan and the couple was married April 25, 1958 in Lubbock, TX. Larry worked in retail sales at Montgomery Ward and was eventually transferred to Elk City, OK to manage the Tire Department. He later went to work at The Booterie and then owned and operated the Sears Catalog Store. In 1984 Larry and Sandra felt the call to move to Sante Fe, NM to be houseparents at the New Mexico Girls Ranch, where they cared for 13 teenage girls. They attended First Baptist Church Santa Fe where Larry was ordained as a Deacon. They served there until 1989 when they moved back to Texas to be near their family. Larry and Sandra later moved to Hinton, OK. Larry served in the U.S. National Guard.
Larry is survived by his wife, Sandra of the home in Hinton, OK, 2 children, Kay Lynn Merrick and husband Jake of Hinton, OK and Terry Pugh and wife Gayla of Elk City, OK 6 grandchildren, Tara Kaye Merrick, Jake A. Merrick and wife Nicole, Dan Merrick and wife Tamera, Raymond Pugh and wife Courtney, Andy Pugh, and Matt Pugh, 9 great grandchildren, Jacob Shaw, Skyler Shaw, Emilia Merrick, Adilynn Merrick, Carly Merrick, Brooke Shepherd, Ava Merrick, Chase Merrick, and Sophia Merrick.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents Lester and Violet Pugh and sister, Jeanie Ingram
