LaVonna Dean (Bordwine) DeVaughan was born on August 23, 1935 in Lookeba, OK to Virgil and Elva (Thornton) Bordwine. LaVonna passed away on November 14, 2024 in Yukon, OK at the age of 89.  She grew up in the Binger area and attended school there, graduating early from Binger High School at 16 years old. LaVonna married Johnnie Ray DeVaughan, Sr. on April 21, 1956 in Grandfield, OK. She had many careers throughout the years starting as a waitress in Gracemont, telephone operator in Lawton, worked at TG&Y and Anthony’s, sold Avon, owned and operated 3 businesses in Binger over the years, and she was a guidance counselor at Caddo-Kiowa Vo-Tech. LaVonna enjoyed working in her yard, loved to tend her flowers, and liked to talk and visit on the phone. She was a great mother who loved her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She will be missed dearly by all those who loved her.

Survivors Include: her daughter, Rhonda Allen of Minco, OK, and her son, John DeVaughan and wife Deborah of Binger, OK, her grandsons, Kevin DeVaughan of Binger, Michael Paul Allen and wife Sarah of Sentinel, OK, Josh Allen and wife Penny of Yukon, OK, Adam Allen of Cogar, OK, Johnnie Ray DeVaughan III and wife Kionna of Yukon, OK, and Jayce DeVaughan of Binger, OK, and her spoiled granddaughter, Jenna Smith and husband Tyler of Binger, OK, numerous great grandchildren, her sisters, Treva Gregory of Binger, OK, and Twila Hart of Hydro, OK, her sister-in-law, Arlene Bordwine of Binger, OK, as well as many other relatives and friends.

LaVonna was preceded in death by her parents, Virgil and Elva Bordwine, her husband Johnnie Ray DeVaughan, Sr., her son, Jerry (Stretch) DeVaughan, her sister, Regina Prince, her brother, Neil Bordwine, and brothers-in-law, Leroy Gregory, Ray Hart, and Milton Prince.  

Graveside Services: Murray Cemetery, Tuesday, 2:00 pm, November 19, 2024, Binger, OK
