Kerry Marie (Howe) East Obituary

Kerry Marie East was born May 18, 1943, six miles east of Binger, Oklahoma, to Frank and Laverne (Harpole) Howe. She passed away Wednesday, December 3, 2025, in Binger at the age of 82.  Kerry grew up moving around as her father’s job relocated to Spring Creek, Chickasha, places in Texas and Gracemont areas. She was attending Spring Creek Schools when  that school closed. She continued her education at Binger Schools. She married the love of her life, Jimmy Clyde East, on June 28, 1960, in Wichita Falls, Texas.  Kerry was a hard worker throughout her life. She drove a hay truck alongside Jimmy in their early years, then went to work for Hollytex Carpet Mill in 1979, where she remained until its closing in 2000. She later worked for Delta Faucet in Chickasha from 2001 to 2006 until that factory’s closing. Afterward, operated East Metals for seven years before retiring.  Kerry enjoyed a variety of hobbies, including mushroom hunting, reading, and spending time with her grandchildren that she loved dearly. She was a talented cook whose specialties—chicken and dressing and homemade cinnamon rolls—were treasured by her family. As a young woman, she loved riding horses and fishing alongside her boys. She was baptized on August 7, 1974, and was a devoted member of the Binger Church of Christ. Kerry was also a lifelong music lover and enjoyed attending concerts with Jimmy.

Kerry is survived by her husband, Jimmy East of the home in Binger;  two sons, James Daniel East and wife Arvilla of Binger, and David Wayne East and wife Joann of Binger; four grandchildren, Brenden Royce East, Angelica Danielle East, Daxton James East, and Keisha Senti, all of Binger; one great-grandchild, Chanel East, three siblings, Linda Ledford and husband Larry of Lone Grove, Oklahoma, Danny Howe and wife Rosemary of Weatherford, Oklahoma, and Mary Snodgrass and husband Bill of Norman, Oklahoma; as well as numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and a host of friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Laverne Howe; one daughter, Angela Dee East; and a sister, Sue Ann Hardy.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday, December 8, 2025, at the Binger Church of Christ in Binger, Oklahoma, with Tanner Bute officiating. Burial will follow at Murray Cemetery in Binger, Oklahoma. Services are entrusted to Turner Funeral Home of Binger, Oklahoma.
