Judy Renee’ Ross

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Judy Renee’ (Hanna) Ross, who left her earthly home and ascended into the arms of her Heavenly Father on November 20, 2025, in Oklahoma City, at the age of 72.

Born on November 12, 1953, in Okeene, Oklahoma, to Amos “Spud” Hanna and Irene Hanna, Judy lived a life marked by unwavering love, faith, and devotion. She gave her life to the Lord in 1993 and never wavered from her faith, which guided her in all she did.

On June 6, 1974, Judy married the love of her life, Steven Duane Ross, in Oklahoma City. Together they enjoyed 51½ years of marriage, building a life centered on family, kindness, and service.

Judy is survived by her husband, Steven Ross of the home; her son Joseph Michael Culp and wife Jenise; grandchildren Blane Michael Culp and wife Katie, Braden Joseph Culp and fiancée Becca Warden, and Hanna Elaine Culp, all of Kingfisher, Oklahoma; and her great-grandchildren Addison Kay Culp, Blair Michael Culp, and Luke Matthew Culp.

She is also survived by her brothers Johnny Hanna and wife Beth of Guthrie, Oklahoma, and Jimmy Hanna of Yukon, Oklahoma; her sister Jere Stegall of Crescent, Oklahoma; nephew Chris Hanna of Norman, Oklahoma; nieces Tara and husband Jason Avery of Guthrie, Oklahoma, and Erin and husband Jeremy Descher of Meridian, Oklahoma; along with many great-nieces, great-nephews, and other loved family members.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents, Spud and Irene Hanna, her sons Michael Steven Ross and Matthew Duane Ross, and her in-laws Loy and Opal Ross.

Judy lived her life as a devoted wife, homemaker, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her family was truly her world. She delighted in attending her grandkids’ and great-grandkids’ sporting events and milestones throughout the years. She spent many hours enjoying Turkish soap operas—always watching with English subtitles—and could often be found outside, watching the clouds.

Judy loved lake life. She spent countless weekends at Eufaula and Texoma, along with many cherished family outings, including Medicine Park and Mount Scott. Her home was a place where she joyfully welcomed family and friends and loved organizing and hosting holiday gatherings.

Judy worked as a secretary at Crooked Oak High School in her early years and later served her community as a proud member of the Ladies Auxiliary at the Cedar Lake Fire Department for 15 years.

Those who knew her will remember her as a true “Mama Bear” even before that term was coined. She was a woman with a contagious smile, a generous heart, and a deep well of love for others. She raised a family of faith, kindness, and gratitude. Her presence made every room brighter, and her love enriched every life she touched.

Judy will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. She will be remembered in our hearts forever.

Turner Funeral Home will be open for visitation on Sunday, November 23, 2025, from 1-9PM and Monday, November 24, 2025, from 9AM-9PM.

Services will be held 10:30 AM, Tuesday, November 25, 2025, at St. Mark’s Methodist Church in Bethany, OK (8140 NW 36th St.) Interment will be immediately following at the Niles Cemetery, Hinton, OK.
