Obituary

Juanita G. (Oliver) Lindley was born May 5, 1927, in Walters, Oklahoma to Ellis and Lessie Oliver, the sixth

of eight children. She passed away on July 6, 2022, in Hydro, Oklahoma at the age of 95.

She was the daughter of a country preacher and they moved to the Lookeba area where she attended

schools and met the love of her life, Dee Lindley. They were married August 11, 1942, and were married

60 years. To this union were born three children, Zona Gale, Gary Dee and Tana Renea. They made

their home on a farm near Lookeba, Oklahoma for 48 years farming peanuts, potatoes, cotton and

raising cattle. They moved to Hinton in 1990 and almost retired. Juanita had many business ventures over

the years; Red Rock Grocery, working at Bubba’s, Hinton Flowers and Gifts, Repeat Boutique, hosted and

cashiered at Zona’s Restaurant, worked at Cindy’s Company Coming and Vintage Alley, no matter what

business she was at, it was the people she enjoyed; she loved people. Juanita never met a stranger.

Juanita was a very patriotic woman, she and Dee loved to travel to Dee’s Army reunions every year. She

was instrumental in reviving the American Legion Women’s Auxiliary Gilbert Fossett Post #230 where

she proudly served for over twenty years.

She was a collector of many things, probably her largest collection was cookie jars, she had over 300.

However, her proudest collection was her family. She enjoyed big family dinners on Sunday and loved

the holiday gatherings.

The family would like to thank everyone at Maple Lawn Manor in Hydro and the Russell Murray Hospice

for their love and care for Juanita.

Left to cherish her memory, are her daughter Tana Mashaney and husband Wayne of Yukon, Oklahoma, her Grandchildren; Kevin and Susan Taylor, Lisa Chisum and Ronnie Masquelier, Tricia and Kelly Pierce, Dustin and Karen Lindley, Jared and Kendall Mashaney, and John Cade and Anya Mashaney; her Great Grandchildren; Tara and Carlos Vega, Jada and Dustin Williams, Jacob Courtney, Tyler and Dusti Taylor, Bryce and Ally Chisum, Baylee Chisum, Kaydee and Dakota Pearson, Cheyenne Pierce, Levi and Ashlyn Pierce, Kincee Lindley, Whitaker Mashaney, Whitley Mashaney, and Eden Mashaney, two step-great granddaughters Kelle Pogue and Holly and Jeremy Massey, her Great-Great Grandchildren Jay Vega, Piper Williams, Grayson Williams, Trinity Vega, Adalyn Vega, Avery Courtney, Kase Pearson, Brecklyn Pearson, Harper Taylor, and Adalee Pierce, and numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.

She was preceded in death by her husband Dee Lindley, her parents, Ellis and Lessie Oliver, her son Gary Dee Lindley, daughter Zona Gale Wells, Granddaughter Lori Jane Courtney, and 5 brothers; Lindsey, James, Virgil, Ray and Billy, and 2 sisters; Beatrice and Yvonne.
