Joseph Keith Old Bear was born on February 10, 1956 in Clinton, Ok to Clyde Sr. and Agnes (Blackman) Old Bear. He passed away in Clinton, OK at the age of 68. In his early years, he lived in Watonga then moved to Anadarko where he attended school. He worked as a welder and was a war dancer at Indian City in Anadarko. He created a lot of good beadwork, liked to attend the sweat lodges and Northern Arapaho ceremonies. He enjoyed going to the casino and visiting with his friends at the independent living center in Clinton. He loved to talk about his grandchildren and loved to tell stories about the homeplace East of Geary. He will be greatly missed by all those who loved him.
Survivors Include: his wife, Verna Old Bear, children, Lance Old Bear, Joseph Keith Old Bear, Jr., Ben Old Bear, John Old Bear, Sharon Old Bear, and Samantha Old Bear, numerous grandchildren, his siblings, Bobbie Hamilton and husband Dale of El Reno, OK, Virginia Old Bear and husband John Penn of Clinton, OK, Mary Stone and husband Clifford Sr. of OKC,OK, Frances White Thunder of El Reno, OK, and Louella Old Bear of OKC, OK, his life-long friends, Phillip Dupoint, Daniel Cozad, Lee Tsatoke, Jr., and Tim Nestell, many nieces and nephews, as well as many other relatives and friends.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde Sr. and Agnes Old Bear, brother, Clyde Old Bear, Jr., his maternal grandfather, John Blackman, his uncles, Melvin Blackman and Joe Blackman, and his aunt, Ida Blackman White Thunder.
