Joleen Wanda (Tice) McVicker

Joleen Wanda McVicker was born on September 3, 1930 in Hollis, OK to Hurnice and Esther (Weaver) Tice. Joleen passed away on June 6, 2022 at her home in Fort Cobb at the age of 91. Joleen grew up around Hollis, OK, attending Ron High School just outside of Hollis. She married Jacky McVicker on July 16, 1948 in Childress, TX.  They raised four children together and were married for over 72 years. Jacky preceded her in death in 2021. Joleen worked various jobs, Gibson’s, ALCO, and Dumas Glass in Dumas, TX. She enjoyed fishing, cooking, playing dominoes, reading her Bible, and watching Gunsmoke on TV. She was a member of the Highland Methodist Church in Fort Cobb, OK. She will be missed by all who loved her.

Survivors include: her children, Connie Anderson and husband, Malcolm of Fort Cobb, OK, Bob McVicker and wife Barbara of Prosper, TX, Randy McVicker of Albert, OK, and Jerry McVicker and wife Jan of San Antonio, TX, daughter in law, Sharon McVicker of Dumas, TX, 14 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, and 5 great great grandchildren, as well as nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends.  

  Joleen was preceded in death by her parents, Hurnice and Esther Tice, her husband, Jacky McVicker, son, Rusty McVicker, daughter in law, Janet McVicker, and grandson, Tracy McVicker.
