Johnny Lee “J.J.” Jarel was born March 6, 1952, in Carnegie, Oklahoma, to John F. and Reva Bernice (Pledger) Jarel. He passed away at his home in Binger, Oklahoma, on Friday, June 5, 2026, at the age of 74.  Johnny had accepted Christ as his personal Savior and lived his faith throughout his life.  Johnny was the grandson of Mrs. JH Jarel, who ran in the Oklahoma Land Run when statehood took place.  Johhny learned how to drive a tractor at a very early age.  He learned all of these things very young in life, skills that made him the man he was.  Johnny loved, "truly loved", spending time with Grandma Jarel.  He was the first of two boys, and had four big sisters.  Hard work is just what his parents taught him, nothing else was accepted.  Johnny learned about cattle, pigs and goats, because his dad taught him the tools he would need in life.  Johnny graduated from Lookeba-Sickles High School in 1970.  He proudly served in the United States Army National Guard from 1970 to 1976, as well as still working for his dad hauling cattle for the community, which he continued throughout his lifetime. Johnny met MarConnia Beth Ledford, in Anadarko, Oklahoma, at a cattle sale. Cattle sales were where they would go on dates.  The couple said their "I do's" in Wheeler, Texas, after dropping off a load of cattle, on September 9, 1971.  Johnny could buy and sell anything he thought would make a dollar.  He also farmed peanuts and cotton. Johnny was also a member of Gobbler’s Lodge.  After his dad passed away, he started driving with his brother, Bobby.  He taught his trade to his daughter, Paula, who was just as good as he was.  Johnny was a good provider for Connie and his two daughters, and taught his daughters his work ethic, and continued this through to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include two daughters, Pamela Marchio, of Binger, and Paula Jarel Robinson and husband Eric, all of Binger; grandchildren Brandon Marchio and wife Lauralee of Eakly, Connar Jarel and fiancé Dakota Law of Oney, Mallorie Thomasson of Oklahoma City, and Colby Robinson of Binger; great-grandchildren Kayven and Lane Marchio, Willow Brown, and Johnny Law; sisters Carol Funk of Oklahoma City, Sara Ann Jarel of Oney, OK, and Linda Rossborough of Minco; brother Bobby Jarel of Minco; honorary brother Bill Blood; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother Mrs. J.H. Jarel, parents John F. and Reva Bernice Jarel; his wife, Connie Jarel; grandchildren Colton and Carl; sister Johnnetta Lindsey; and brother-in-law Glen Bert Funk.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, June 12, 2026, at Oney Baptist Church in Oney, Oklahoma, with Reverend Dustin Tackett and Mr. Jason “J.J.” Jarel officiating.
