John Miller Obituary

John William Miller was born May 14, 1943, to Andrew “Andy” and Dora (Marshall) Miller between Eakly and Hydro, OK.  He passed away Friday, May 8, 2020 at his home near Anadarko, OK with his family at his bedside.   John graduated from Eakly High School in 1962 and joined the US Army in 1963. John served in the Army until his father became very ill, and he came home.  He married Linda Willis on December 5, 1964 in Carnegie, OK.  In September of 1966 he joined the US Army for a second time and served in Vietnam. After being discharged he continued to serve his country as a US Army National Guardsman until his retirement on September 24, 1998.  John held many positions over the years.  He worked for the Watershed, Veltema Vending, Delta Faucets, Spradlings Auto Supply, Walmart, Caddo Co. Sheriff Office as a Jailor, and worked for Hinton Turner Funeral Home until his retirement in 2006.  John was a hard working man who loved his family dearly.  He enjoyed RVing, boating, going to the lake, fishing, working outside, and being with his family and grandchildren.  John impacted every person he came in contact with and touch their life.  John was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Anadarko.     

 

Survivors Include: wife Linda of the home in Anadarko, 2 children, Cheryl Miller and Craig Miller and his wife Christina all of Anadarko, 5 grandchildren, Kelsi Wishon and husband Zach, Makenna Miller, Audrey Miller, Louie Miller, and Isaac Miller, 2 great grandchildren, Jackson and Kymber Wishon, sister, Nancy Thornton and husband Thomas as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.  

 

 

John was preceded in death by his parents Andy and Dora Miller, one son, Brian Miller, 4 brothers, Richard Miller, George “Sonny” Miller, Howard Miller, Herschel Miller and 5 sisters, Ruby Petross, Sarah Mae Cardwell, Tommie Hill, Charlotte Sanders, and Carol Morse.

 

 

Graveside Services: Wednesday, 2PM, May 13, 2020 Alfalfa Cemetery, Alfalfa, OK
