John Kendell Obituary

John Kevin Kendell was born on December 7, 1959 in Oklahoma City, OK to Earl Lee Kendell and Lexie May (Knox) Thomas. He passed away on March 1, 2021 in Yukon, OK at the age of 61. Kevin graduated from Hinton High School in 1979. He married Reneé Miller on May 25, 1979 in Hinton, OK. In December of 1978, he started working at the Hinton Telephone Company and eventually became Forman until retiring December 18, 2013. Kevin enjoyed hunting, fishing, and going to the Lake. He was good at fixing things, a great mechanic that could fix just about anything. Kevin also enjoyed golfing, lifting weights, in the 1980’s he was involved in body building. He loved his many friends and loved his family very much. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Hinton, OK. Kevin and Reneé had race cars and jet boats. They had recently purchased a jet boat, pontoon boat, and a travel trailer having plans to go traveling and to the lake. Kevin was a very spiritual person; he read his Bible and would witness to others. Growing up as a child he loved spending time with his grandparents, Reba and Ira Knox, at Canyon Camp and Tennis and Greta Kendell in Hinton.  

 

Survivors include: his wife, Reneé Kendell of Hinton, OK, his mother, Lexi Thomas and husband Jim of OKC,OK, his step-mother, Arvilla Kendell of Hinton, OK, his brother, Steven Kendell and wife Bobbie of Tucson, AZ, his sister, Mechelle Keeney and husband Joe of OKC,OK, his half sister, Mandy McHugh and husband Kent of OKC,OK, his mother in law, Joy Miller of Hinton, OK, his in laws, Robert Miller of OKC,OK, Donnie Miller and wife Misty of Piedmont, OK, and Linda Cosgrove and husband Neil of Yukon, OK, as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  

 

Kevin was preceded in death by his father, Earl Lee Kendell, his grandparents, Tennis and Greta Lee Kendell, and Ira and Reba Knox, and his father in law, Wayne Miller.  

 

 

Services:  First Baptist Church, Friday, 2:00 PM, March 5, 2021, Hinton, OK

Officiating: Rev. Keith Gillham

Burial:   Hinton Cemetery, Hinton, OK
