John Lewis Brandon

**John Lewis Brandon** was born on June 14, 1942, in Ada, Oklahoma, to Amos and Ophia (Thogmorton) Brandon. He passed away on August 6, 2026, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, at the age of 84. John attended school in Bing and later Mountain View, Oklahoma, and remained a lifelong resident of Binger. He married the love of his life, Karen King, in Binger, Oklahoma, where together they raised their family. John dedicated many years of service to Southwestern Bell as a service repairman. Outside of work, he was an avid outdoorsman who especially enjoyed hunting and golfing. Bow hunting was one of his greatest passions, and he enjoyed participating in tournaments throughout the years. John was also a talented carpenter and handyman who was always working on a project or helping someone in need. More than anything, John was a devoted family man. His greatest joy came from spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He also enjoyed making trips to Crainco for coffee and conversation, where his friendly personality shined through, John never met a stranger. His kindness, generosity, and welcoming spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

John is survived by his beloved wife, Karen Brandon of Binger, Oklahoma; his children, Staci Harvell and husband, Dewayne, of Binger, Oklahoma, and Andrew Brandon of Binger, Oklahoma and Tammy Ledford and husband Randy.  Grandchildren, Mykayla Vaughan of Norman, Oklahoma, Ryan Harvell of Binger, Oklahoma, Chris Brandon of Binger, Oklahoma, and Nick Brandon and wife, Rae, of El Reno, Oklahoma; five great-grandchildren; Jacob Vaughan, Robbin Vaughan, Kayla Vaughan, Briel Harvell.  Surviving sister, Lawana Hernandez of Austin, Texas; his brother, Wayne Brandon and wife, Darlene, of Miles, Texas; his sister-in-law, Lucille Brandon of Midwest City, Oklahoma; his niece, Darla Morrison of Miles, Texas; and many other nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Amos and Ophia Brandon; his brothers, Leonard Brandon, L.D Brandon, Leroy Brandon, and sisters Loren “Toots” Lillard, Laverne “Dutch” Clark, Lamuriel " Cricket" Whitesell and husband Arnel Whitesell, and Lanell Mace and her husband, John Edward Mace.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, August 10, 2026, at the Binger Church of God in Binger, Oklahoma, with Reverend Arnold Whitesell and Reverend Kevin Bartley officiating. Burial will follow at Murray Cemetery in Binger, Oklahoma
