JoAnn (Hernandez) Caballero Obituary

JoAnn Caballero, 48, of Oklahoma, was born on October 28, 1977, in Weatherford, Oklahoma, to Isidro Hernandez and Maria Rodriguez Hernandez. She passed away on March 26, 2026, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. JoAnn grew up in Lookeba, Oklahoma, and graduated from Lookeba High School. On April 18, 2015, JoAnn married Raul Caballero in Lawton, Oklahoma. Together, they shared a loving life filled with family and friendship. She was deeply devoted to her family and shared close bonds with her sisters, cousins, nieces, and nephews throughout her life. An entrepreneur at heart, JoAnn had a Facebook page named Milo’s Treats, where she created a variety of Mexican treats, including candied fruit, strawberries, and grapes. She took great pride in her work and enjoyed sharing her creations with others. JoAnn loved to dance and always enjoyed looking her best when going out. She had an incredible memory, especially when it came to numbers, birthdays, and special occasions.  She especially loved Halloween. Known for her wonderful sense of humor, JoAnn had a special gift for making others laugh. She also enjoyed playing loteria, card games, and doing puzzles, and she was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Above all, she cherished her beloved fur babies. JoAnn will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

 

JoAnn is survived by her husband, Raul Caballero; her sisters, Arlene Kent of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Sheila Laguna and husband James of Hinton, Oklahoma; Nancy Haire and husband Jeff of Florida; and a special sister, Samantha Barillas and husband Carlos of Hinton, Oklahoma, her mother-in-law, Leonila Perez; her half-brothers, Phillip Hernandez and Hector Hernandez; her second father, Alvaro Cisneros; and Sheila’s children to whom she was a second mother, her nieces and nephews, Victoria Morelock, Jasmin Garza, Benjamin Garza, Savanna Laguna, James Laguna, Jr., Ramiro “Buddy” Garza Jr.,, Nicole and Jantez Gray, Ashley and  Andrew Weldy, and Allison Haire,  along with many other cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

 

JoAnn was preceded in death by her mother, Maria Hernandez; her grandmother, Simona Rodriguez; her second mother, Olga Cisneros; her grandfather, Sammy Rodriguez; and her uncles, Salvador Rodriguez, Sammy Rodriguez,  and Joe Rodriguez, and her cherished furbaby Milo.

 

Services will be held at the Turner Funeral Home Chapel in Hinton, Oklahoma, on Monday, March 30, 2026, at 2:00 p.m., with Reverend Charlie Newman officiating.
