Jerry Dean DeVaughan “aka Stretch” was born August 5, 1954, in rural Binger, Ok.  He went to be with the Lord February 13, 2024, in Binger at the age of 69 after a short battle with several health issues. 

He attended school at Anadarko, Mooreland, Frederick, and Lookeba-Sickles where he graduated from high school.  He worked at Hollytex Carpet Mills in Anadarko, for a longtime friend, Gary Mills, doing carpentry work, and for Don Thompson as a farm hand where he loved driving the tractor and messing with the cattle.  He later worked with his brother, John, in the construction business.  He, John, and Tracy Walsh worked together for many years.  He was a gifted carpenter.  Jerry loved playing his guitars.  He enjoyed working in the yard and in the garden where he spent many hours.  Also taking care of his mother for several years.  He had a passion for motorcycles and cruising around in his dad’s old Dodge.

He was proceeded in death by his father, Johnnie DeVaughan Sr., of Binger.  His grandparents. Virgil and Elva (Thornton) Bordwine and Zed and Ilma (McCarty) DeVaughan all of Binger.

He is survived by one son, Kevin DeVaughan, of Binger.  One granddaughter, Kylie DeVaughan of Oklahoma City, OK.  One grandson, Ezekiel DeVaughan of Albany, NY.  His mother, LaVonna (Bordwine) DeVaughan of Binger.  One sister, Rhonda Allen, of Minco, OK.  One brother, John DeVaughan Jr., and his wife Deborah of Binger.  Numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.

Graveside services will be February 15th at 2:00 pm in the Binger Cemetery under the direction of Turner Funeral Home with Dennis King officiating.
