Jay Lewis Tate was born February 4, 1992 to Jay Winfred Tate and Laura Ann Pryor. He passed away Sunday January 17, 2021 at his home in Oklahoma City at the age of 28. Jay was raised in Oklahoma and Texas and lived in various other states while his Dad was serving in the Navy. He graduated from Binger High School and lived in Binger before moving to Oklahoma City where he worked as a Union apprentice plumber while in education working towards a Union Master Plumber.
He enjoyed singing, dancing, noodling with his brothers, baseball, basketball, going to the gym and hanging out with is family and friends. He had a presence about him that would light up room. Jay was currently attending Life Church where he was involved in different activities.
He was preceded in death by his two brothers, Jody and Joshua Tate; grandparents, Lewis Pryor, Jerry Tate, and Jimmy Daniel; great grandparents, Clemeth Fridel, Eula Mae Pryor, Ruth Elliott, Vernon Daniel, Alphie Daniel, James Pryor, Winfred Tate, and Uncle Lewis Dent Pryor, Jr.
Jay is survived by his parents, Laura Pryor of Ft. Worth, TX and Jay and Sharese Tate of Moore, and Russell Daniel of Binger, siblings, Larissa Ann Melanie Tate of Oklahoma City, Lacey Tate of Ft. Worth, TX, Shelby Tate of Moore, Caleb Daniel of Binger, Stephanie Roper of Overland Park, KS, and Sydney Whittaker of Oklahoma City; grandparents, Iona Pryor of Ft. Worth, TX, Sue Tate of Carnegie, Patricia Alexander of Oklahoma City, and Sue Daniel of Binger; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and many friends.
