On Wednesday January 10, 2024 Jason Kyle Ring became absent from his body to be present with the Lord. Jason was born in Yukon, Oklahoma on June 21 1981 with a heart of gold, a high-five for everyone he met, and an ornery streak! He grew up primarily in Cedar Lake and attended Hinton schools where he played football, sang some amazing solos in vocal, and became a household name as Ringo. He graduated from Hinton High School in 1999. He later settled in Noble, near Norman, Oklahoma where he co-owned School House Cycles, nurturing his passion for motorbikes and generally having too much fun. By plane, train, automobile (but preferably by motorcycle), his travels took him throughout the country and overseas. He made friends easily wherever he went, from bike trips to Colorado to country pubs in England, he knew how to leave an impression, and that’s no lie! It often seemed that he had nine lives, surviving falls from big trees, slicing his fingers off in wood shop, fights with barbed wire fences, and losing his leg in a motorbike accident to name a few. His big old heart made up for any missing parts and Jason was known for his soft spot for those in need or the down and out. Whether he had a nickel or thousands to his name, he would give anyone the shirt off his back. Though some might say he was generous to a fault, we know for certain that he would want to be remembered for his generosity than for putting himself first, which he rarely did.
He will be sorely missed and is survived by his mother Carolyn Ring, his sister Melissa Bockelmann, his nieces Emily Clouse, Sarah Porter and Eva Bockelmann, aunts Shirley Reed, Charlotte Long, and Peggy Bailey, uncle Robert Kessler as well as many other cousins, relatives and lifelong friends.
Jason is reunited in heaven with his father, James Ring, his sister Christy Fromm, his grandparents Robert and Imogene Kessler and Henry and Gayle Hazel Ring, uncles Duane Kessler, Michael Ring and David Ring.
A Memorial and Celebration of Life service will be held at The Hot Spot on Saturday January 20th from 1:00 PM-3:00 PM, in Hinton, Oklahoma.
