Jason Palmer Obituary

Jason Trent Palmer was born September 9, 1971 to Jay William Palmer and Carole Avery in Blanding, UT.  He passed away Saturday, April 23, 2022 at the OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City at the age of 50.  Jason graduated from Hinton High School in 1990.  He married Lisa Lanier and they lived in Colorado and from this union two daughters Trystin and Tyrnei were born.  He moved back to Oklahoma and worked at Tinker AFB, worked as a butcher, and worked as a Certified Water Works Operator for the City of Weatherford and City of Mangum.  Jason was very handy and could fix about anything but broke a lot of things too. He hot wired a tractor at 5 or 6, started riding dirt bikes at 4 began being terrorized by his sister around age 3.. He loved putting together models, RC cars, metal detecting, and four wheelers.  He could take a four wheeler apart and put it back together.  He and Shannon Erickson were married February 12, 2021.  He loved Colorado and always wanted to move back there.  He had a special relationship with his grandma Fern aka Grandma Grape. 

 

He was preceded in death by his father, Jay Palmer.

 

Jason is survived by his wife, Shannon Erickson Palmer of Yukon, OK; two daughters, Trystin Palmer of Glenpool, OK, and Tyrnei Palmer of Glenpool, OK; mother, Carole Avery of Mustang; two step-children, Megan McCarty of Arkansas, and Samantha Scrudder of Weatherford; grandchildren, Denver, Hynslie, Meadow, Asher, Amelia, Margo, and Jensen; sister, Lei Newton of Mustang, OK; two half-brothers, Justin Palmer of Arizona and Kolton Palmer of Colorado, nieces, Liberty and Brianna, nephew, Zachary, great niece, Journey, great nephew, Salem, and his favorite companion dog, Trudi, as well as many other relatives, and friends.

 

In lieu of flowers the family request memorial donations to suicide prevention.

 

Service: Hinton-Turner Funeral Home Chapel, Wednesday, 2:00 pm, April 27, 2022, Hinton, OK
