Janet Joan (Stoutin) McDowell was born on January 26, 1935 in Homer, IL to George Edward and Eleanor (Black) Stoutin. Janet passed away on February 27, 2025 at her home in Binger, OK at the age of 90. She grew up in Chetek, WI and in Sidell, IL. She married Paul E. McDowell on October 20, 1951 in Westville, IL. Together, they raised their four children, Steve, Mike, Mark, and Lisa. While Paul served in the US Army, Janet was always a supportive Army wife and very proud of their service as a family. Janet was a very talented artist and a master China painter. Her creativity also came out in her woodworking and crocheting. She especially enjoyed teaching her grandchildren how to swim. Janet was a very loving, kind, and sweet person. She was also a very outspoken person and a major Trump supporter. Janet will be deeply missed by all those who loved her.
Survivors Include: her children, Steve McDowell and wife Sheree of Roscoe, IL, Mike McDowell and wife Gwynn of Edmond, OK, Mark McDowell of El Reno, OK, and Lisa McDowell and Johnny Williams of Binger, OK, her grandchildren, Jeffrey McDowell, Michael McDowell, Kelly Scudder, Erin McBurney, Matthew McDowell, Kristi Ayers, Wesley McDowell, Shannon McDowell, Jennifer McDowell, Eric Tolentino, Patric Tolentino, Colter McDowell, Austin McDowell, Rachel McDowell, Megan McWethy, David Brown, and Sean Williams, 32 great grandchildren, her sister in law, Donna Stoutin of FL, as well as many other relatives and friends.
Janet was preceded in death by her parents, George and Eleanor Stoutin, her husband, Paul E. McDowell, Jr., her brothers, Edward Stoutin and George Stoutin.
