Jane Thompson Obituary

Jane Luellen Thompson was born July 30, 1936. On November 5, 2020 at the age of 84 years, she went to be with the Lord. Jane was born and raised in Hinton, Oklahoma graduating with the Hinton Comet Class of 1954. She began her life-long love of piano at an early age playing for countless church services, weddings, funerals, and school musical events. She was also a proud Hinton Comet basketball player. She married Fay Delmer Thomason in 1954. The couple farmed and raised 3 children: Randall Scott, Shelly Lu, and Stanley Wade. During her years raising her children she was an active Girl Scout Leader, 4-H Leader, a large gardener, an excellent cook, piano teacher, MYF Leader, UMW member, and piano/organist at Bethel United Methodist Church. Jane married LeRoy Thompson in 1988 and they made their home in Nashville, TN until they returned to Western Oklahoma in 1997. They retired to a beautiful home on Cedar Lake just East of Hinton where Jane began walking a three-mile route around the lake nearly every day. She became well known with the local residents for her walks. Jane especially loved watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren grow up. Her competitive, hardworking spirit flowed down to them through their many years of fun and card games with each other. Another love of Jane’s was one of travel. She began enjoying annual family vacations at an early age and that tradition continued throughout her life. Jane’s favorite place was the beach and she enjoyed it both alone and with family. Jane was dearly loved by family and many friends and her servant’s heart will remain with them always.

Survivors include 2 children: Stan Thomason and wife Beth of Hinton, OK and Shelly Newton of Hinton, OK. Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren: Tricia Hartzell and husband Lance and children Deegan and Talon of Hinton, OK; Trey Thomason and wife Melissa and children Ellie and Jack of Hinton, OK; Vanessa Bryant and husband Clay and children Cooper and Jase of Weatherford, OK; Todd Newton and wife Marlee and children Beau and Ava of Hinton, OK; Amanda Brimage and husband John and children Robbie, Wyatt, Merci and Miley; and Miranda Perrin and husband Drew.
