Hortensia (Hinojosa) Rodriguez

 Hortensia Hinojosa Rodriguez was born on November 3, 1942, in Winters, TX to Pedro and Lillie (Martinez) Hinojosa. She passed away on October 7, 2021, in Norman, OK at the age of 78. Hortensia married Antonio Rodriguez in San Antonio, TX in 1965. They moved from San Antonio to Michigan to harvest sugar beets, cherries, peppers, cucumbers and traveled to Indiana to harvest tomatoes. Later moving to Oklahoma making their home in Lookeba, Oklahoma, in the late 1970’s. They made a living harvesting watermelon, wood, peanuts and hay.  She enjoyed worked on the farm for many years. Hortensia enjoyed crossword puzzles, painting, and loved being with her family. But most of all, she enjoyed making her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren happy.

Survivors Include: her children, Sammy Rodriguez and wife Rhonda of Hinton, OK, Juan Rodriguez of Hinton, David Rodriguez of Hinton, Jesse Rodriguez and wife Dawn of Hinton, Luis Rodriguez and wife Tracy of Hinton, and Ruby Orozco and husband Luis of Sulphur, OK, 20 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, her siblings, Maria, Robert, Gus, Oralia, Esmeralda, Eddie, Victor, Gilbert, Latitia, Roy, and Rosa, as well as many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Antonio Rodriguez, her parents, Pedro and Lillie Hinojosa, her daughter, Michelle Vargas, her siblings, Pete, Louisa, and David, her son, Daniel Rodriguez, her great grandchild, Teagan.

Burial: Lookeba Cemetery, Lookeba, OK
