Herschel Lee House

Herschel Lee House was born on June 21, 1937, East of Hinton, OK on the family farm to Leslie Abner and Viola Irene (Davis) House.  He passed away on Wednesday, November 11, 2020 in Oklahoma City, OK at the age of 83 to be with his Lord and Master, Jesus Christ, at that time being the oldest deacon and faithful member of the Lookeba Missionary Baptist Church, Lookeba, OK.

 Herschel graduated from Lookeba High School and attended one year at SWOSU, Weatherford, OK.  He married Rosella Novy on August 12, 1956 in the Lookeba Missionary Baptist Church in Lookeba, OK, having been married for 64 years.  Rosella had fallen in love with Herschel during their junior year of high school, going to basketball games and sitting beside each other on the bus. The couple had a small wedding ceremony before church services. Side by side, they made their home on a farm east of Colony, OK, where they started their lives together and farming operation. He collected old tractors, getting them started, and going to farm sales.

He loved his family, being with his wife, kids, grandkids, and great grandkids, and always taking time to play with them and being a part of their activities.

He is survived by his wife Rosella of the home, his children; Jeff House and his wife Beverly of Eakly, Rosalie Paxton and her husband Phillip of Lookeba, Darin House of Ardmore, grandchildren; Colton T. House and his wife Chealsea, and their children Tipton and Kensington of Oklahoma City, Dalton K. House and his wife Blanca and their children Hesston Herschel, Persaeus, McKyna and Yiannis of Hinton, Paden A. Paxton and wife Ashley and their son Thomas Allen of Lookeba, Ashton Setzer and husband Kade and their children Holden and Boden of Hydro, Sarah Paxton of Yukon, his sisters, Helen West of Hinton and Dorothy Dunn of Lookeba.

Herschel was preceded in death by his parents Leslie and Viola House.
