Obituary

Guadalupe “Lupe” Samaniego was born May 10, 1944 to Francisco and Clara (Olveda) Gonzales in Mertzon, TX.  She passed away Wednesday, December 16, 2020 in Oklahoma City, OK at the age of 76.  Lupe was raised in San Angelo, TX.  She married Reynaldo “Ray” Samaniego on March 11, 1961 in San Angelo, TX and the couple relocated to Binger, OK in 1962.  From there they moved to Hikeba for a short time before building there home in Lookeba, OK in 1976.  Lupe worked at the Lookeba Sickles Schools.  Lupe attended Caddo Kiowa Technology Center and graduated with an LPN nursing degree in 1982. She went to school during the day and worked at the nursing home in Hinton, OK in the evenings.  After her graduation she went to work in Anadarko at the Hospital and both nursing homes.  Lupe always had 2 or 3 jobs.  She moved to Oklahoma City in 1993 and went to work teaching nursing students at DeMarge College during the day and as a nurse in the evenings at St. Anthony Hospital.  Lupe retired in 2006 and moved back to their home in Lookeba, OK.  She recently lived in Oklahoma City with her daughters due to her declining health.  Lupe loved to sew, read, bake and take short trips with her family members.  She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.  She was a member of Holy Angles Catholic Church in Oklahoma City, OK. 

 

Lupe is survived by her children; Ramon Samaniego and wife Pam of Del Rio, TX, Ray Samaniego of Jacksonville, AR, Delia Grose of Oklahoma City, OK, Debra Samaniego of Oklahoma City, OK, and Gina Soriano and husband Rigo of Oklahoma City, OK, grandchildren, LeAndrea Samaniego, Dustin Samaniego, Jessica Healy, Sydney Samaniego, Estevan Soriano, and Mercedes Soriano, great grandchildren, Jay Edwards, Dominick Samaniego, Dallas Samaniego, Tristan Daboise, Brooklyn Daboise, Laythan Samaniego, Renaeya Soriano, brother, Pedro Gonzales of San Angelo, TX as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. 

 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Francisco and Clara Gonzales, husband, Ray Samaniego, son, Bobby Samaniego, granddaughter, Dakota Grose, and sisters, Juanita Rodriguez and Cipriana Samaniego.
