Glenda F. "Hooker" (Hooker) Harris Obituary
Glenda F. “Hooker” Harris was born on March 16, 1944, in Binger, Oklahoma, to Glen and Ruby (Jones) Hooker. She peacefully passed away on July 7, 2026, in Weatherford, Oklahoma. She was 82 years old. Glenda grew up in Eakly, Oklahoma, where she developed the strong work ethic and caring heart that would define her life. She later met the love of her life, William M. “Bill” Harris, and the couple was united in marriage on September 14, 1973, in Gainesville, Texas. Together they built a life centered on faith, family, and kindness. Glenda found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She loved gardening, raising chickens, and spending time outdoors surrounded by flowers and nature. She was especially known for her delicious home cooking, which she lovingly shared with family, friends, and neighbors. Glenda had a remarkable gift for making everyone feel welcome. She became a “community mom” to countless children and friends, always ready with a warm meal, a listening ear, or a helping hand. She gave generously of herself without ever expecting anything in return. Above all else, Glenda treasured her family. Her love, encouragement, and unwavering support touched generations, and she will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to know her.
She is survived by her children, Ashley Gaines and husband, Greg of Colony, Oklahoma; Leslie Wheeler and wife, Carol, of Bluff City, Tennessee; Mike Wheeler of Binger, Oklahoma; and Tommy Wheeler of Weatherford, Oklahoma; her grandchildren, Montana Wheeler, Caleb Wheeler, Michael Wheeler, Natasha Wheeler, and Cheyenne Wheeler, her great grandchildren, Gabbi and Kinley Gaines, Brantley, Brennar, and Paxton Wheeler, Jozie, Ethan, and Tatum Taylor, and Eric and Zackery Wheeler, her sister, Vera Black of Mustang, Oklahoma; along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Glen and Ruby Hooker; her beloved husband, Bill Harris; her son, Shane Harris; her grandson, Jesse Scott; her sisters, Juanita Mayen, June Russ, and Shirley Maybry; and her brother, Butch Hooker.
