Franklin Boles Obituary

Franklin Boles

March 29, 1933-March 13, 2022

Franklin Delano Boles was born in Binger, OK on March 29, 1933. Frank was delivered as a special package on the doorstep to Hi-Mi-Mary Parton and Thomas Lee Boles in Binger, Oklahoma a week later. Frank passed away on March 13, 2022 in Oklahoma City.

Frank graduated from Binger High School in 1951 and graduated from Oklahoma State University, formerly Oklahoma A & M, with a degree in Agriculture Economics in 1956. At OSU, Frank was a member of ROTC and remained in the Army Reserves until the age of 63 and attained the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. He was the Western Oklahoma liaison for West Point. Frank began his career as a science teacher and basketball and baseball coach at Binger High School. He went on to be a teacher and principal at Cowden Grade School and then Superintendent of School at Eakly. He was also an active farmer and rancher. In 1959, Frank married Daneille Haley in Oklahoma City. The following year, their daughter Sherri was born. They lived in a little pink house with three rooms in Binger until Sherri was 5 and then moved to a new house up the hill in 1964 and Frank has lived there ever since.

Frank met his partner and companion, Karla Cole, when she returned to Binger to run her family restaurant, Mills Café. Frank was an avid fan of horse racing, enjoyed raising his cattle and being on the farm. We will remember him as a generous, strong person. He treasured the town of Binger and his friends there. One of his favorite pastimes was circling the farm every morning.

Frank is proceeded in death by his parents, Tom and Mary, and Karla’s son Terry.

Frank is survived by his daughter Sherri Boles Hartman, partner and companion Karla Cole, her son Steve, her granddaughter Lauren, and good friend Benny Bowling.

A graveside service is scheduled for Wednesday, 2:00 PM, March 23, 2022 at the Binger Cemetery. Officiating will be Rev. Charles Sappington and Rev. Dennis King
