Frances Lee (McElreath) Ice was born in Chickasha, Norge, OK on June 14th, 1931 to parents Howard and Rosalia (Nelson) McElreath and passed away on Saturday, October 11, 2025 in El Reno, OK at the age of 94. She graduated from the Oklahoma College for Women with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Home Economics in 1952.  She started teaching Home Economics at Geary Public Schools before she met and married A.N. Ice on May 15th, 1954. They made their home in Geary along the North Canadian River farming and ranching. She served as Blaine County 4-H Leader.  Frances enjoyed the outdoors with her friends and family. She never missed an opportunity to go to town and visit with all friends, new and old. Frances enjoyed traveling, camping, and riding motorcycles. She was named Blaine County Farmer of the Year a few years after A.N.’s passing.  In her spare time, she enjoyed sewing, being a part of the community, and independent at every opportunity.  Frances was the greatest mom and grandma that ever lived.   

Frances is survived by her 3 children Alvin Ice and wife Nancy, of Sheboygan, WI. Tom Ice and wife Carol, of Yukon, OK. Ann Knapp and husband Bobby of Greenfield, OK. 4 Grandchildren; Steven Ice, Tiffany Rauwerdink, Jessica Knapp-Kauk, and Morgan Knapp. 6 Great Grandchildren; one brother, Allen McElreath and wife Hope, of Dibble, OK.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Rosalia McElreath, husband A.N. Ice, and siblings, Charles McElreath and Anita Burkey.

The family wants to thank the small community for the help and support for her all these years.
