Fern Berniece (Nusz) Hood

Fern Berniece Nusz Hood was born on February 9, 1928 at the family farm SW of Geary, OK. She passed away on July 17, 2019 at Hydro, OK at the age of 91. Her parents were David and Katherine Sophia (Becker)Nusz. She was the youngest of 16 children. She married Louis S. Hood March 25, 1944 in Watonga, OK. She worked at First National Bank in Yukon, OK, and Guaranty Bank in OKC, OK. She also worked as a cashier at Biscuit Hill and Cherokee Restaurant. She loved all of her big family of 15 siblings. They had so much fun getting together! She loved her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren dearly. Berniece loved animals and mourned her little dogs when they went over the rainbow bridge. She loved to read and probably read most of the books in the Hinton Library.

Preceding her in death were her parents, 15 siblings, her husband Louis, and her son, Sonny Hood.

She leaves behind her daughter, Lee Ellen Heldermon and husband Bob, her son, David Hood and his wife Melody, her grandchildren, Guy Heldermon, Kaci Barrett, Chuck Hood, Shawn Hood, Shana Mitchell, Cole Hood, and Jaci Gill, and many great grands.

The family wants to say thanks to Maple Lawn Manor and all their employees, Faith Hospice, and her special friends, Joyce Lilly, Wanda Davis, and Taylor Meriwether.
