Elliott “Clayton” Taylor passed away on August 15, 2024, in Arapaho, OK. He was born on October 12, 1966, in Lubbock, Texas, to James E. Taylor, Jr. and Dorothy (Kelly) Taylor. 

Clayton came from a ranching family and fell in love with the cowboy lifestyle at an early age. Even though he grew up in cowboy boots and a hat, there was a time when he also loved the game of golf, especially practicing his short game.

Clayton graduated from Frenship High School in Wolfforth, TX. His love of horses brought him to Oklahoma to attend Redlands Community College in El Reno. Being a fifth-generation Texan didn’t stop him from falling in love with Oklahoma - especially the community he created. He was a member and Past President of the Clinton Round-Up Club, participating annually in the local parade.

Clayton moved to the close-knit community of Arapaho in 2015 and played an active role in his church. He worked at Elk Supply Co in Clinton for close to ten years. On June 5, 2021, he married his love, Danielle (Cote), in Weatherford, OK. 

Clayton is survived by his wife, Danielle Taylor; his children, Emily Vickery of El Reno, Abigail Taylor, and Chelsie Spillman of Arapaho; his parents, James E. and Karen Taylor of Lubbock, TX; his siblings, Kelly and his wife Sandy of Rocksprings, TX, and Jennifer Paulsen and her husband Jeff of Placitas, NM.

Clayton was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy K. Taylor, and brother, James (Jim) A. Taylor.

Memorial donations may be made to Shepherd Hospice or Stephens Cancer Center in OU Medical Center.

Memorial Services:  Monday, August 19th, 11:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church, Arapaho, OK.
