Dortha Roxie (Golden) Nance was born on September 28, 1927, in Pershing, Oklahoma to Andrew King Golden and Ida (Bays) Golden. Roxie passed away on March 9, 2026, in Bethany, Oklahoma, at the age of 98. Roxie moved with her family to eastern Oklahoma and lived in Marble, Oklahoma, for two to three years before the family eventually settled in Hinton, Oklahoma. During those early years, she helped pick cotton alongside her family. Roxie married J.T. Nance on December 19, 1942, in Calumet, Oklahoma. She worked for many years at TG&Y, but her family was always the most important part of her life. She loved them dearly and treasured every moment spent together. Roxie enjoyed sewing and passed that love on to the next generations, teaching her two great-granddaughters how to sew and even buying them a sewing machine. She was also well known as a wonderful cook. Family and friends fondly remember her coconut cream pie, along with her unique favorites like black-eyed pea sandwiches and potato chip sandwiches. She also loved hummingbirds and always kept the feeders full for them. Roxie will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her son, Charles Nance and wife Sharon of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; her grandson, Derrick Nance and wife Pam of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; her great-granddaughters, Carissa Cannedy and husband Jacob of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Morgan Hall and husband Joshua of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; her great-great-grandchildren, Jay Derrick Cannedy, Jac Andrew Cannedy, Jett Charles Hall, and Madelyn Ruth Hall; her half-sister, Mary Whitby; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Roxie was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew and Ida Golden; her husband, J.T. Nance; and her several brothers and sisters.

Graveside services will be held at 11:30 a.m., Friday, March 13, 2026, at Geary Cemetery in Geary, Oklahoma, with Reverend Darla Golden officiating.
