Dorothy Fern (Little) Moore was born on April 25, 1929, in San Pedro, California to William Evan, Sr. and Dorothy Grainger (Shumate) Little. Fern went to be with the Lord on March 11, 2024. Fern grew up in Desert Center, California, until the family moved to the Calumet/Geary area in Oklahoma. Fern married Leo Glen Moore in El Reno, Oklahoma on December 24, 1946. Fern and Leo raised 6 children together on the family farm. Fern helped as needed on the farm and in particularly enjoyed harvest time, where she provided meals and could be seen catching a ride on the combine. Fern was a dedicated mother, baking cookies for the home room school parties, and she was known for her scratch angel food cake that she made for many baccalaureate graduating senior suppers. She was an accomplished seamstress and made many items for the county fair where she often won blue ribbons. She was a life-long member of the Katies Home Demonstration Club. On Sunday’s you would find Fern, and all 6 kids when they were at home, at Coleman Chapel Church where she spent 30 years as church treasurer. In her older years, Fern enjoyed her grandchildren and great grandchildren, even had special suppers where only the grandchildren and great[1]grandchildren were invited. She enjoyed spending time with her brothers and sisters. Fern strived to be a godly wife and mother and a genuinely good person who touched the lives of many. She will be missed by all.
