Doriene Thelma (Graham) Carpenter

Doriene Thelma (Graham) Carpenter was born on June 17, 1926 in Hinton, OK to Christopher and Retha (Free) Graham. She passed away on March 14, 2020 in Weatherford, OK at the age of 93. Doriene grew up in the Hinton area. She married Leonard Carpenter in Anadarko, OK on January 31, 1948. Doriene loved to sew; she often made quilts to take to the boy’s ranch in Lawton and was always very active in her church. She always was the one to chop the onions for the taco suppers at church because no one else would. She was a big coffee drinker, loved to cook, and have big gardens. Doriene loved animals, especially wienie dogs, but also every stray that found its way to her. She always had a smile for everyone, and loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Eakly, OK and in her later years attended the Pentecostal Holiness Church in Hinton, OK. 

Survivors Include: her children, Linda Hulsey and husband Jimmy of Weatherford, OK, and Rita McLemore of Swan Lake, OK, her grandchildren, Holly Cavanaugh and husband Doug of Hydro, OK, and James Maggard of Tulsa, OK, her great grandchild, Salana McVicker and husband Montana of Hydro, OK, and Raevyn Cavanaugh of Hydro, OK, her grandsons, Rowdy McLemore of Swan Lake and Dalton Ricketts, and daughter in law Debbie Carpenter, as well as other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Christopher and Retha Graham, her husband, Leonard Carpenter, her son, Richard Carpenter, her grandson, David Kirkes, and 11 brothers and sisters.

Services:  Pentecostal Holiness Church, Wednesday, 2:00 PM, March 18, 2020, Hinton, OK

Burial: Eakly Cemetery, Eakly, OK
