Donald Ray Mason was born on February 5, 1936 in Hinton, OK to James Ralph and Virginia Madeline (Smith) Mason. Don passed away on March 17, 2022 in Oklahoma City, OK at the age of 86. Don worked for the Sante Fe Railroad in Wichita, KS. He served in the Missouri, Kansas, and Oklahoma National Guard. He also worked in the Hesston Manufacturing Company in Hesston, KS. He married Carolyn Thomason on February 22, 1959 at Bethel Methodist Church in Hinton, OK. Don and Carolyn moved back to Hinton in 1960. After moving back to Hinton, he farmed part-time while building houses with Jr. Mullins, until eventually becoming a full-time farmer and rancher. Don loved spending time driving tractors, riding through his cows with Carolyn, and attending every sporting event his grandkids were active in. Don loved his family and friends, there was not a stranger he met. He was a jokester and always loved a good prank. Carolyn was the light of his life, and Don always made sure she was taken care of. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Hinton, OK.
Survivors Include: his wife, Carolyn Mason of the home Hinton, OK, his sons, Craig Lynn Mason and wife Nancy of Clinton, OK, and Roger Don Mason and wife Beth of Lookeba, OK, his daughter, Melissa Carole Weathers and husband Alton of Hinton, OK, his grandchildren, Janelle Mason, Tate Mason, Ty Weathers, Sierra Weathers, and Cy Mason Roark, his brother, Roy Gayle Ryker and wife Alice of Hinton, OK, his brothers in law, Bob Ramming of Hinton, OK, and Fay Delmer Thomason of Hinton, OK, his sister in law, Jean Mason of Bartlesville, OK, several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Don was preceded in death by his parents, James Ralph and Virginia Mason, Gayle Ryker, his brother, Wayne Mason, and sister, Darlene Ramming.
