David Martinez, Jr.

David Martínez Jr, was the beginning of a new dream for my family. He came into this world a firecracker and illuminated it just as brightly. David was a proud, colorful and curious son of immigrants from Mexico. To those that may not know, David was born deaf and with some physical limitations. Some might have seen these as barriers to leading a full and happy life but someone forgot to tell David because the smile on his face and the gleam in his eyes reflected his lust for life.

Some of David’s dreams were to visit Disney World and to travel around the world. Unfortunately, David wasn’t able to fulfill all of his dreams. So, it is now left up to use to help him make it to the finish line. In honor of David, take to reflect on what is currently around you and ask yourself two questions: “Is this adding value to my life?” and “Am I making my dreams a reality?”

David is survived by his mother Honorina Martinez, his two brothers Alberto and Micheal and his sister Diana and his sister in law Kierra Martinez.

David Martinez Jr. fue el inicio de un nuevo sueño para mi familia. El era como un cohete artificial iluminando al mundo. Él era el hijo de inmigrantes de México con una personalidad curiosa, orgullosa y extravagante. A los que no sabían, Davisito nació sordomudo y con algunas limitaciones físicas. Algunos mirarían estas cosas como barreras a poder tener una vida alegre y completa pero alguien se le olvidó decirle esto a Davisito porque la sonrisa en su cara y el resplandecer de sus ojos mostraban su alegría por la vida.

Algunos de los sueños de Davisito eran visitar Disney World y viajar alrededor del mundo. Desafortunadamente, Davisito no pudo cumplir todos sus sueños. Ahora, se nos queda esta tarea a nosotros y tenemos que ayudarle a cumplir su meta. En honor de Davisito, tomen tiempo para reflexionar sobre sus alrededores y háganse dos estas preguntas: “Esto me esta agregando valor a mi vida?” y “Estoy haciendo mis sueños una realidad?”

David es sobrevivido por su madre Honorina Martinez, sus hermanos: Alberto, Micheal. Su hermana Diana y su cuñada Kierra.
