Darin House

Darin Les House was born on September 21, 1966 in Weatherford, Oklahoma to Herschel Lee and Rosella (Novy) House. He passed away on Friday, January 1, 2021 in Ardmore, Oklahoma at the age of 54. Darin began his life journey on the family farm near Colony. Most memorably, he helped sack peanuts during harvest, rode his bicycle, and loved singing.

Darin attended Washita Heights Public Schools for a short time, Lookeba-Sickles Public Schools Special Education program, and Butler Public School Special Education Program. While in public school, Darin participated in the Special Olympics, sang a solo at the Washita Heights Christmas program, and entered the vocal contest at Seiling, Oklahoma, singing John Denver’s, “Annie’s Song.” Darin was part of the Lookeba Missionary Baptist Church in his younger years singing gospel songs with the congregation.

Later, he would move to Ardmore and lived under the care providers, Kio-Bois.  Kio-Bois helped Darin to have a life of independence the best he could. Darin loved singing gospel and country songs, listening to the radio, and wearing his caps. Darin was a special blessing in the lives of so many on this earth, and now is blessed by being in the presence of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Survivors include: his mother, Rosella House of Hinton, his siblings; Jeff House and his wife Beverly of Eakly, Oklahoma, Rosalie Paxton and her husband Philip of Lookeba,

as well as several cousins, other relatives and friends.  

Darin was preceded in death by his father Herschel Lee House, Grandparents, Leslie and Viola House and Ed and Bessie Novy.
