Cozetta Lesperance Obituary

Cozetta C. (Wilson) Lesperance

1935-2021

Cozetta peacefully and comfortably passed away at Brookdale Senior Living Facility in Weatherford, OK on Monday, November 1, 2021 at the age of 86. Born in Geary, Oklahoma to Harold Wilson and Arietta (Swimmer) Wilson on May 15, 1935. Cozetta attended Geary High School and married T.W. Lesperance, the love of her life, on August 30, 1952. To this union were 3 children, Tommy, Sherry, and Karen, and they had almost 65 years of a wonderful marriage. T.W., being in the Army, started a lifetime of travel to many places, and having so many lifetime friends. They lived in Lawton, OK briefly then transferred to Germany and spent 3 separate tours there. The family has also lived in Ft. Lewis, Washington, Ft. Bragg, NC, Albuquerque, NM, until coming back to live on the family farm in 1968 when T.W. retired. Cozetta has had some very rewarding jobs over the years and met so many wonderful people. She never seemed to meet anyone who she could not talk to; she was such a nice person. Cozetta worked at Holleytex for 25 years and loved her job. Cozy bowled on a Watonga Women’s league for several years, volunteered and helped with the Roman Nose Trail Rides, Watonga Pioneer Days, and on the Watonga Hospital Auxillary. Being able to go and help with the Geary High School Class Reunions was such a joy to her. She loved her family and her church family at Aetna Wesleyan Methodist Church in the country. Spending time with her kids and grandkids were a big part of her life, always loving being involved in their activities, going to cheer them on. Cozy also enjoyed playing cards with longtime friends and family and going to the Geary Senior Citizens. She also had a love for finding great bargains at local and nearby garage sales. Cozetta and T.W. made their home in Watonga for over fifty years and in 2015 they decided to move to Weatherwood Assisted Living in Weatherford and after a few years, moved to Brookdale Assisted Living in 2017, where she lived when she passed.
