Clio Coppage Obituary

Carlos Clio Coppage was born February 25, 1926 to Charlie and Lillie (Jones) Lee in Monterey, Tennessee. She passed away Thursday, December 24, 2020 in Davis, Oklahoma at the age of 94. Clio’s family moved to Ada in 1928 from Tennessee and later settled around the Geary area where she met her husband-to-be, John Milton Coppage. They were married on October 18, 1941, in Geary, Oklahoma and raised their two children, Mark and Michelle. Clio lived and worked in Geary most of her life. She worked at the Geary Nursing Home for over 25 years. She loved gardening, spending time with John in the garden, and canning all of the vegetables they raised together. Clio also loved sewing, crocheting, and baking goodies for her family. Clio’s greatest happiness came from her children and grandchildren.

Later in life, Clio spent many hours making scrapbooks for each child and grandchild, she wanted them all to know how loved and cherished each one of them was.

In 2000, Clio moved to Wynnewood, Oklahoma to help with her daughter with the first Grandchild.  She and John attended Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church West of Geary and later attended Hillcrest Baptist Church in Wynnewood and lived in the community until her passing.

Survivors include her two children, John Mark Coppage and his wife Andrea of Geary, and her daughter Jana Michelle Coppage, her grandchildren; Ross, Austin, John, Morgan, Chloe, Kirsten and Jordan, her adopted grandson; Landon; brothers; Clemon and Larry and sisters; Billy, Ella and Mary, as well as other relatives and friends.

Clio was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Lilly Lee, her husband John Milton Coppage, and 1 brother and 2 sisters.

Family recommends face masks and social distancing.
